Forsyth grew up in Hackensack and River Edge, and he's lived in Wyckoff for the past 30 years. He served in the Marine Corps as a captain, and he was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War.
He then went on to be a pilot with TWA for 35 years, before he retired.
Forsyth is survived by his sons, Jeffrey and Andrew; fiancé Selma Alaimo; and siblings Bonnie Shallcross, Laura Mullen, James Forsyth and Ellen Johnson.
He was predeceased by his wife, Karen Mae.
A memorial service was held on Thursday evening, Jan. 5, at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, in Wyckoff.
